KINGMAN – Postseason honors don’t always tell the whole story of a season and that is the case for the Lee Williams High School volleyball team.

The Lady Vols not only won the most matches in program history with a 13-5 overall record, but they finished at No. 10 in the final 4A Conference rankings – also a program best.

Nevertheless, Lee Williams’ dream season came to an end in the first round of the 4A State Tournament and four Lady Vols garnered region accolades.

Kalyse Whitehead was named to the all-region first team after she finished her senior campaign with 193 kills and 44 blocks.

Lorelei Fernandez, also a senior, was named to the all-region second team and tallied a team-high 209 kills along with 214 digs.

LaNae Burgess and Natalie Sanchez were Honorable Mention selections.

3A West Region

A group of seven athletes from Kingman and Kingman Academy high schools picked up postseason accolades from the 3A West Region, led by Kingman’s Elvira Torres (libero) and Academy’s Lynsey Day (setter) as first-team selections.

Kingman’s Esther Torres (setter) and Academy’s Madison Lewis (libero) were named to the all-region second team, while the Honorable Mention selections included Kingman’s Trey Siewiyumptuta and Morgan Stephens along with Academy’s Gabriela Lobue.
